Court Reporting
The Court Reporting program is approved by the Michigan Department of Education as a prerequisite for the Certified Shorthand Reporting Examination and accredited by the NCRA (National Court Reporting Association).
The program is taught by State Certified Court Reporters. Court Reporters must be certified through state and national exams. It prepares students for various careers in court reporting, including but not limited to: court reporter, freelancer, closed-captioner for the hearing impaired, CART writer and educational reporter.
On average, the program may take three years to complete. Advancement in the program is based on individual performance and the ability to gain the necessary speeds. Therefore, program length will vary from student to student.
Upon completion of this program, students will be eligible to sit for the mandatory State Certified Shorthand Reporting Examination and will receive a Macomb Workforce & Continuing Education Court Reporting Certificate of Completion verifying successful completion.
Only certified reporters and recorders may record or prepare transcripts of proceedings held in Michigan courts or of depositions taken in Michigan as regulated by Michigan Court Rule 8.108(G). Certification is accomplished through a testing process administered by the Court Reporting and Recording Board of Review through the assistance of the State Court Administrative Office.
In order to be eligible for registration for an RPR examination, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a high school graduate, and not have been under sentence for a felony for a period of two years.
Applicants for the certified shorthand reporter written examination (CSR) must provide proof they have satisfactorily completed an approved, accredited or recognized course of study in court reporting and have passed the National Court Reporter's Association (NCRA) registered professional reporter (RPR) examination.

Data Analyst
The Data Analyst certificate program is a job skill training program consisting of three courses and may be completed in two terms (eight months).
This program empowers students with the skills they need to gather, describe, visualize, analyze and build reports on organizational data using Excel and Power BI. Students will learn how to access data from a variety of data sources, transform the data, and create meaningful and insightful visuals and dashboards.
Students will earn a Data Analyst Certificate of Completion upon completing all three courses and 3.00 academic credits (ITCS 2200 Data Analysis).

Digital Marketing
The Digital Marketing for Business certificate program is a job skill training program consisting of seven courses. It is designed for entrepreneurs and business people seeking to market their business using social media. This program can be completed within one term (four months).
The purpose of this program is to provide the information and skills essential to use social media tools and strategies for communication, networking and promoting business. Topics will include creating and managing social media accounts, building and managing business campaigns, search engine results and reaching new target audiences.
Students will earn a Digital Marketing for Business Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of all seven courses.
Students who successfully complete this program can earn 3.00 general elective business credits.

Entrepreneurship
The Entrepreneurship certificate program is a job skill training program consisting of six online courses and can be completed within one term (four months).
The purpose of this program is to empower adult students to start a successful business or to improve an existing one. Students are equipped with the essential skills needed to launch or grow a business including how to develop a business plan, how to market a new or growing business, how to avoid common mistakes and pitfalls when getting started, how to build confidence in small business financial management, and how to find additional support resources.
Students will earn an Entrepreneurship Certificate of Completion upon successful completion of the following six courses.
Upon successful completion of Entrepreneurship Certificate, students can schedule a meeting with a mentor at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship www.macomb.edu/cie.
Students who successfully complete this program can earn 3.00 academic credits (BUSN-1210 Entrepreneurship Fundamentals).

This certificate program will be a transition program for managers, engineers, team leaders, production advisors, process engineers, production operators and others involved in investigating and resolving internal and external problems. This certificate program explains to the team why there is a need to change to a Quality Culture and how they can approach work in a different manner. Develop a common lexicon for communication within your organization, develop a zero-defect mentality, acquire a systems-thinking integration to your organization (all work is a process), and understand the validation of this achievement.
You will learn types of Visual Management to improve quality performance and how to apply the visual tools to create a visual workplace, which will allow new and unfamiliar employees with a process/area. Emphasis is placed on Lean Manufacturing Principles. This course will provide a roadmap to a successful, systematic operational lean production system - leading to world class manufacturing.
Become "First, Focused and Fast," identifying waste daily, eliminating wastes immediately and finding more waste. You will participate in a 32-hour workshop-style course, reviewing necessary tools and techniques for obtaining and sustaining a high level of quality performance. Experiences will include in-depth analysis of the Layered Process Audit content (e.g. how to ensure that the process can be sustained and each level of the audit process is impactful), resulting in a real change and follow-up.
Students will discover and utilize Design of Experiment (DOE) as a process involving inputs, experimentation and outputs. Learn to identify potential problems or optimize a process that involves the study of multiple parameters instead of one factor at a time (OFAAT).

The Quality Tools Application certificate is 64 hours of instruction broken down into two courses/modules: The first module, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, and Shop Math, focuses on what to measure and what the results should be. It familiarizes the participant with the language of manufacturing - the Technical Drawing or Blueprint. Participants will also gain a basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) which allows additional control of features of parts, and Shop Math which is essential in all of manufacturing. The second module, Metrology and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) focuses more on how to measure the parts.
Participants will learn how to properly use handheld measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers, as well as get an introduction to Coordinate Measuring Machine which is a programmable precision measuring machine.
