Health, Business and Information Technology Spotlight Night

While health care, business and Information Technology (IT) might seem like they have little in common with one another, there is one thread that links them. Each have a wide variety of options in high demand careers. Our April 8 Health, Business & Information Technology Spotlight Night on our Center Campus at 7pm provides attendees information about programs and careers in these fields.

At this event, learn more about careers in:

  • Business
  • Culinary Arts
  • Health Care
  • Hospitality Management
  • Information Technology
“Attendees can look forward to receiving detailed program information as well as broader course-level insights,” said Dr. Michael Balsamo, Dean of Business and IT. “Additionally, several instructors will be present to answer any questions.”

Macomb’s Business, Culinary and IT Programs for High-Demand Careers

Our business programs open doors to a wide array of professional pathways in almost any industry. Students can earn an associate degree from Macomb and if they want to pursue a bachelor’s or master’s degree, our University Center has them covered and can be discussed in-depth that evening. We offer classes from Walsh, Northwood University and many other universities that we partner with from across the state.

With our hospitality management and culinary programs, students go beyond learning in just a classroom. At our Center Stage teaching restaurant, students get real restaurant experience and can learn the unique skills needed for their industry.

IT jobs are in high demand and our instructors, who will be at the event, do their best to make sure our students are career ready. “Many IT programs also prepare students for industry certifications, which can significantly enhance their career prospects,” said Dr. Balsamo.

Health Care Opportunities that Work for All Students

In the health care field, jobs can range from nursing to veterinary technicians. The programs showcased at the event have multiple completion times depending on how fast students want to move from the classroom into the workforce.

Health care apprentices can work while simultaneously doing their academic studies. While other programs can go for two years and beyond, like our Nursing program, that offers a clear transfer pathway from Macomb to University of Detroit Mercy with our RN to BSN agreement.

“Attendees are making personal connections with professionals in their field of interest who will serve as an ongoing resource or mentor to help a student reach their goals,” said Andrea Shaw, Associate Dean of Health and Human Services, discussing the benefits of attending. “Our goal with this event is to make you informed.”

There is no cost to attend the Health, Business and Information Technology Spotlight Night.
