As the provost of Macomb Community College, I have the privilege of witnessing countless students embark on their educational journeys. One of the most rewarding aspects of my role is watching our students successfully transfer to universities, where they continue to thrive and achieve their academic and career goals.

By completing your general education requirements at Macomb, you will save a substantial amount of money before transferring to a university to finish your bachelor’s degree. This approach allows you to graduate with your bachelor’s degree with significantly less debt.

In fact, there’s a good chance you’ll pay little or nothing at Macomb. How? Due to scholarships such as Michigan’s Community College Guarantee and Macomb Tuition Advantage and other funding sources, around 65% of Macomb students pay little or no tuition.

Macomb offers rigorous academic programs that prepare students for the challenges of university coursework. Our academic programs are accredited by the Higher Learning Commission, the same agency that accredits the University of Michigan, Michigan State University and other colleges and universities in Michigan and across the country. This means you will receive a high-quality education that is on par with bigger institutions.

At Macomb, we offer smaller class sizes, which means more personalized attention from instructors. This supportive environment helps students build a strong academic foundation and connect with faculty members. Unlike larger institutions, all of our courses are taught by highly qualified faculty, not teaching assistants.

Transferring is easy

The Michigan Transfer Agreement guarantees that most public and private universities in Michigan accept 30 credits of coursework that satisfy your general education requirements. At Macomb, we have a robust transfer department with 105 transfer agreements currently in place with 27 university partners. And, we’re continually adding more institution-to-institution agreements. Additionally, we offer Pathways programs, which are transfer agreements with various institutions for specific programs. We also have numerous 3+1 agreements, allowing students to complete their first three years at Macomb at a very cost-effective tuition rate.
